Fourth seed Alexander Zverev displayed incredible resilience to come back from a double break down in the final set and defeat Robin Haase in a thrilling five-set match at the French Open on Wednesday.
After dropping the first set, Zverev rallied to take the second and third sets, only to lose the fourth set to Haase. In the deciding set, Zverev faced an uphill battle, trailing 5-3 and with Haase serving for the match.
However, Zverev broke Haase's serve and held his own to force a tiebreak. In a tense tiebreak, Zverev eventually prevailed 7-5, sealing a hard-fought victory.
Zverev's win sets up a last-16 clash against Andrey Rublev, who advanced earlier in the day. The match is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 2, 2024.
